The US’s pharma industry registered a 5.7% rise in IT hiring activity in December 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 0.94% in December 2021 when compared with November 2021.

Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.04% share in December 2021, recording an increase of 0.33% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the US’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in December 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.2% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s pharma industry in December 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 55.81% in December 2021, registering a 9.37% decline over the previous month.

2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed an 11.85% share, an increase of 6.37% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 11.81%, registering a 39.89% decline from November 2021.

4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 9.96%, down 36.67% over the previous month.

Top five pharma companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in December 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 24.36% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s pharma industry during December 2021 over November 2021.

Evolent Health posted 839 IT jobs in December 2021 and registered a drop of 45.73% over the previous month, followed by Bausch Health Companies with 331 jobs and a 28.51% drop. Intermountain Healthcare with 307 IT jobs and CVS Health with 208 jobs, recorded an 1818.75% flat growth and a 2.35% decrease, respectively, while The Hastings Center recorded a decline of 20.81% with 175 job postings during December 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in December 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 53.2%, down by 28.7% from November 2021. Mid Level positions with a 23.19% share, registered a decline of 8.41% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 19.26% share, up 19.23% over November 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 4.35%, recording a month-on-month increase of 133.33%.
