The death toll due to the new coronavirus Covid-19 has increased to 1,526 with 143 new deaths in China as of the end of 14 February. The total number of deaths in mainland China is 1,523.
The total number of confirmed cases increased to more than 67,000 which includes 66,492 infections in Mainland China, of which 11,053 are said to be severe cases.
The total number of recoveries around the world is 8,263.
Egypt reports first case
Egypt has confirmed its first case of the Covid-19 and has stated that the affected is a ‘foreigner’ who was asymptomatic.

China’s capital Beijing has decided to order a mandatory 14-day self-quarantine for people who are returning to the city.
It has stated that those who do not follow the quarantine or the new official rules regarding the Covid-19, will be punished.
People who are coming back will have to inform their community beforehand.
Around 1,700 health care workers affected in China
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention stated that around 1,700 healthcare workers have been infected by the Covid-19.
It stated that the outbreak is ‘concerning’ as the disease can spread faster in healthcare settings where infection control measures are not fully implemented.
CDC also added that it issued guidance to aid healthcare workers in protecting themselves as they provide care for the infected. There are no confirmed cases of the virus in healthcare workers in the US.
