US-based provider of web based pharmaceutical data management solutions AssistRx has collaborated with local e-prescribing service firm NewCrop to improve capabilities for electronic health records (EHRs) and healthcare organisations.
Through the collaboration, NewCrop will have the ability to offer its clients AssistRx’s patient-focused software solution, iAssist Workflow.
The HIPAA-compliant, secure, cloud-based software is said to eliminate paper and streamline communication between prescribers, pharmacies and manufacturers, thereby reducing the time taken by the patients to receive their speciality drugs.
AssistRx chief commercial officer Edward Hensley said: “NewCrop shares our vision of leveraging technology to simplify patient access and accelerate time-to-therapy in order to improve patient care.
“Through this relationship, iAssist workflows will be available to NewCrop’s 180+ EHRs, including many that are specialist focused. iAssist workflows help patients begin life-saving treatments faster by connecting them to access and adherence programmes, which are essential to improving the patient journey.”
According to AssistRx, a typical iAssist Workflow contains acceleration services such as electronic prescribing, electronic patient consent, electronic prior authorisations, real-time patient benefit eligibility queries and digital enrolment into therapy support programmes, along with many others.
Acceleration services can be configured for all stages of the prescribing process.
In addition to streamlining the processes related to prescribing, iAssist will help improve speed to therapy and adherence as patients begin treatment sooner.
