The pharmaceutical industry is an important part of the AlpVision portfolio for delivering proven product authentication solutions.

New regulations are under discussion or implementation, which are related to traceability of medicine doses. Now a more and more clear differentiation between serialisation of production items and authentication processes has been finally identified by the various pharma intervening parties.

Serialisation should provide traceability in case of product withdrawal or market diversion; for example, authentication should enable identifying genuine medicine from fake ones, even correctly serialised. AlpVision will delegate a representative to contribute to workshops where these questions will be debated.
