In 2019, we started to face the challenge to use air as a refrigerant for lyophilization processes. The result was the first fully functional Lyo with the CryoBlizzard technology.
Last week, we successfully accomplished 152 batch runs, which corresponds to 10,000 operational hours – and all this without a single failure!
This very special retrofit of a 2.5m² Lyo, originally manufactured for insulin production in 1998, turned out to be a track record.
This technology has already successfully been implemented at the HOF Freeze-Thaw Unit and the latest development of the HOF CryoProPhase for solvent recovery.
