Apprentice helps life science manufacturers get therapeutics to patients faster by providing one platform to turn molecules into medicine. Our Tempo Manufacturing Cloud accelerates the end-to-end drug product lifecycle by connecting together distributed teams and sites, helping them execute better on the shop floor, and optimizing their operations through enterprise-wide visibility. From preclinical benchtop to large-scale commercial manufacturing, Tempo keeps your global teams connected, empowered, and in sync.

The company is a Category Award Winner for Financing, Innovation and Product Launches in the 2023 Pharmaceutical Technology Excellence Awards for the introduction of innovative new features to its Tempo Manufacturing Cloud software suite and the securing of new funding.

The company’s most recent product release focuses on extending product capabilities for modern commercial manufacturing, deepening Tempo’s existing features in its Manufacturing Execution System (MES) that support commercial production and adds a new product, the Connected Manufacturing Network (CMN), that creates a connected digital network across internal and external sites.

CMN allows manufacturers to streamline drug development by connecting all their manufacturing sites. This allows them to manage production from one platform, utilizing features such as centralized recipe management and optimization and shared digital access to production runs and workflows for batch review and signoff.

The new functionality is particularly useful in new areas of innovation and research such as biologics and cell and gene therapies, which often involve a distributed sites and teams, both internal and external. Tempo allows organizations to centralize the drug lifecycle data to accelerate product pipeline and expedite new product introductions.

Prior to the introduction of the Connected Manufacturing Network, Apprentice offered four additional package’s consisting of a Manufacturing Execution System, a Laboratory Execution System, Augmented Work Instructions and Tandem Virtual Collaboration.

Tempo Manufacturing Execution System (MES) allows users to quickly develop and release a batch of drugs through seamless coordination of the materials, equipment, recipes, and personnel. Operators author procedures, use recipe templates, and leverage no-code integrations to execute faster.

Apprentice’s Laboratory Execution System (LES) helps release drug batches faster with real-time quality control. Scientists author rich testing procedures, manage samples and lab resources at scale, and execute those test methods on mobile and wearable devices.

Augmented Work Instructions (AWI) was designed for teams just starting out on their digital journey. It’s the only cloud-native, digital work instructions software built for pharma in which operators and scientists can author and augment digital work instructions and execute procedures on mobile and wearable devices.

Tandem Virtual Collaboration (TVC) is the company’s purpose-built virtual collaboration solution that reduces costs, delays, and safety issues by replacing in-person site visits with real-time virtual conferencing designed for the pharma facility. Tandem combines high-quality video streaming, AR, and live voice transcription with wearable headsets to give remote colleagues a detailed, first-person perspective into an operator’s workflow.

With $207M in funding – the most recent round occurring in March 2023 for $65M – a 3.4x growth YoY rate, and 218% net customer retention, Apprentice is a trusted partner responsible for modernizing many of the world’s life science organizations operations and changing the way drugs are made in facilities across the globe. Apprentice’s growth is a testament to the critical role of advanced technologies in expediting the delivery of life-saving therapeutics to patients in need.
