China’s pharma industry IT recruitment activity rises 12.3% in July 2022

China’s pharma industry registered a 12.3% rise in IT hiring activity in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 0.93% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.

Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.93% share in July 2022, recording an increase of 0.35% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in China’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s pharma industry in July 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 65% in July 2022, registering a 13.04% growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 16.25% share, an increase of 160% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 10%, registering a 166.67% rise from June 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 7.5%, down 14.29% over the previous month.

Top five pharma companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 47.5% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s pharma industry during July 2022 over June 2022.

Parexel International posted 43 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a rise of 72% over the previous month, followed by AstraZeneca with 4 jobs and a 300% growth. Novo Nordisk with 4 IT jobs and Pfizer with 4 jobs, recorded a 100% growth and a 100% growth, respectively, while F. Hoffmann-La Roche recorded a decline of 60% with 4 job postings during July 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 88.75%, up by 33.96% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with an 8.75% share, registered a decline of 22.22% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 2.5% share, up 100% over June 2022.
