IT jobs accounted for a 4.24% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in August 2022, registering an increase of 0.12% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 29.73% in August 2022, a 21.43% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 27.03% in August 2022, marking a 233.33% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 16.22% in August 2022, a 45.45% drop from July 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 140% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s pharma industry during August 2022 over previous month.
Eurofins Scientific posted 9 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered an increase of 125% over the previous month, followed by Parexel International with 4 jobs and a flat growth. Hypera with 4 IT jobs and Bayer with 4 jobs, recorded a 300% rise and a flat growth, respectively, while Johnson & Johnson recorded a 40% decline with 3 job postings during August 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s pharma industry
Costa Rica commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 32.43% share in August 2022, a 36.84% decrease over July 2022. Brazil featured next with a 29.73% share, up 10% over the previous month. Argentina recorded a 27.03% share, a growth of 150% compared with July 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 67.57%, down by 37.5% from July 2022. Entry Level positions with a 21.62% share, registered a growth of 300% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 10.81% share, down 20% over July 2022.
