May 2022 has seen a decrease of 1.72% in the overall hiring activity when compared with April 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 2.84% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in May 2022, registering an increase of 0.56% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in May 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 53.33% in May 2022, a 77.78% rise over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 20% in May 2022, marking a 20% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 10% in May 2022, a 25% drop from April 2022.
Database and Network Administrators and Architects registered a share of 10% in May 2022, a 50% decline over the previous month.
Top five pharma companies in South & Central America’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 216.67% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s pharma industry during May 2022 over previous month.
Johnson & Johnson posted 6 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered an increase of 500% over the previous month, followed by Bayer with 5 jobs and a 150% growth. AstraZeneca with 3 IT jobs and Parexel International with 3 jobs, recorded a 200% rise and a 200% rise, respectively, while Notre Dame Intermedica Participacoes recorded a 100% increase with 2 job postings during May 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s pharma industry
Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 50% share in May 2022, a 50% increase over April 2022. Costa Rica featured next with a 23.33% share, down 46.15% over the previous month. Argentina recorded a 20% share, a flat growth compared with April 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 76.67%, up by 21.05% from April 2022. Entry Level positions with a 20% share, registered a decline of 25% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 3.33% share, down 50% over April 2022.
