The US’s pharma industry registered a 5.1% drop in IT hiring activity in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 4.42% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.

Out of the pharma industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 1.92% share in July 2022, recording an increase of 0.06% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the US’s pharma industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.56% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s pharma industry in July 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 40.85% in July 2022, registering a 13.6% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 22.51% share, a decrease of 34.66% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 16.64%, registering a 29.25% decline from June 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 9.65%, down 20.43% over the previous month.

Top five pharma companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 27.31% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s pharma industry during July 2022 over June 2022.

Intermountain Healthcare posted 423 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a drop of 26.56% over the previous month, followed by The Hastings Center with 199 jobs and a 17.77% drop. UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center with 124 IT jobs and Evolent Health with 121 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 64.52% decrease, respectively, while CVS Health recorded a decline of 40.54% with 110 job postings during July 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 58.67%, down by 17.43% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 25.51% share, registered a decline of 34.41% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 15.64% share, down 23.51% over June 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.18%, recording a month-on-month decline of 44.44%.
