R Grace & Co, a global leader in speciality silica and fine chemicals, has been announced as a winner of the 2022 Ringier Technology Innovation Award in the food and nutraceutical category. Grace’s SYLOID® XDP F silica was selected for its unique performance and innovation as a carrier excipient in both food and nutraceutical applications.

This is the second consecutive year and third time Grace has won a Ringier Award. In 2021 and 2022, the company’s products in its coatings portfolio secured awards, including its SYLOID® AQ silica and SHIELDEX® anti-corrosive pigments, respectively.

The Ringier Technology Innovation Awards are sponsored by Ringier Trade Media, Asia’s leading industrial multimedia organisation, and recognise innovative products and technologies that have made outstanding contributions to their respective industries.

The Chinese market continues to see strong demand for healthier foods in addition to growing consumer preference for nutraceuticals for medicinal and cosmetic purposes. SYLOID® XDP F is a mesoporous carrier silica engineered to transform oily active ingredients into various solid dosage forms such as tablets, powders, capsules and more. The product is ideal for nutraceutical formulations as it improves the handling and release of primary active ingredients.

Patrick Xue, Technical Customer Service Manager for Health and Life Sciences, APAC, Grace Materials Technologies commented: “We are very honoured to receive the Ringier Technology Innovation award. The industry recognition highlights our ability to deliver products that meet growing and evolving trends in the Chinese market through forward-looking, high-quality solutions.”

“Our goal at Grace is to deliver technologies that enable our customers to formulate products that align with evolving consumer preferences,” said Stella Ip, Director Strategic Marketing, Health and Life Sciences, Grace Materials Technologies. “We remain committed to delivering innovative solutions for the health and life sciences markets and are proud of the recognition SYLOID® XDP F silica received.”

The Grace team will be present to accept the award during the official ceremony in Shanghai in August.
