Cultex Laboratories presents a device to support the handling and scraping of microporous membranes when removing them from cell culture inserts.

The device is designed to counter the unexpected problems that are often encountered during this process.

With the CULTEX® Insertomat, cell culture insert is placed upside-down on a precisely fitting socket, which is available for Falcon® and Transwell® inserts of different sizes. This can be rotated via a small motor inside the device. The membrane can then be touched at the edge with a scalpel.

Insert rotation speed can also be manually controlled by a foot pedal, favouring the cutting process. The membrane is held by tweezers.

At the end of the process, the membrane is removed without damage and is ready for further processing.
