Tekni-Films, a Tekni-Plex Company, has been named a winner of the coveted Abbott Supplier Excellence Award for its exceptional contributions to the global health care company in 2006 (Tekni-Films also won this award for its contributions in 2005). Tekni-Films was chosen as one of 19 winners from over 25,000 worldwide suppliers for its outstanding performance and continuous improvement in supplying materials, equipment and services.
The Abbott Supplier Excellence Award programme began in 1991 and utilises an assessment process that combines performance data along with feedback from internal stakeholders, including manufacturing, material control, quality, engineering, administrative services and select others. The programme identifies Abbott’s highest performing suppliers by assessing performance in the categories of logistics, quality, service, cost leadership and process improvement.
