Sterigenics International has announced that it received ISO / IEC 17025:2005 food and chemistry accreditation in Mexico.

Sterigenics International president Philip Macnabb said: "Mexico is a key Sterigenics region with gamma sterilisation operations in Hidalgo and ethylene oxide sterilisation operations in Mexico City.

"This accreditation at our SteriPro laboratories in Mexico City recognises our ability to provide the necessary testing capabilities and knowledge to accompany our world class processing facilities."

ISO / IEC 17025:2005 accreditation ensures the SteriPro laboratories are competent at carrying out necessary microbiological and chemical tests. These tests are consistent with the highest quality standards necessary to meet the needs of clients.

The accreditation, in conjunction with current BSI certifications for ISO / IEC 9001:2008, ISO 13845: 2003 & EN ISO 13485:2012, demonstrates Sterigenics’s commitment to continually improve, and meet client specifications and regulatory requirements.
