As a continuing effort to give back to society, this year SHL organised a Winter Toy and Book Drive, collecting second hand toys and books donated from employees and giving them to charity for distribution to those in need.

The idea for this event originally came up amongst the company’s green committee as a possible way to encourage employees to be greener by donating items that are no longer used and contribute to those in need at the same time. This year’s event took place during the week of December 10th, just a few weeks before Christmas, with hopes that these toys and books (which have all been cleaned before donating) can find their new owners on Christmas Day and bring them joy and accompany them for the New Year to come.

Bags of toys and stuffed animals of different sizes and books were donated from the many generous employees at SHL who took the extra effort to find, clean and bring these items to work. By holding events like this Winter Toy and Book Drive, SHL hopes to encourage not only other corporations to continue to hold true to their social responsibilities, but also to remind SHL employees the importance to be greener and to give and help those in need.
