World Courier is pleased to announce the November 2012 opening of a new office in Basel, Switzerland − the company’s third office in that country, bolstering the company’s global network to 151 offices in 52 countries.

"Basel is a major center for the pharmaceutical, chemical and modern biotechnology industries," says Reto Mohni, Managing Director, World Courier Switzerland SA, "and has the highest density of successful Life Sciences companies in the world. Besides housing the headquarters of two of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies, Basel accommodates a Life Sciences cluster of many smaller companies and a continually growing number of successful start-ups."

Although the distance between the new office and World Courier’s Zurich office is just one hour by car, Mr Mohni contends that closer customer proximity will allow for faster response to client needs and additional transport options via two key European gateways. Basel is considered the logistics center of Switzerland, with the Basel/Mulhouse Airport and the intersection of some major European road and rail routes occurring here while Zurich is home to Switzerland’s largest international airport.
World Courier’s Basel office is fully equipped with +5°C refrigerators, -20°C and -26°C freezers, and a +20°C controlled ambient area and warehouse to accommodate any temperature requirements.
