World Courier has announced the opening of four new offices in China, the Philippines, Lithuania and Serbia.

The company’s four new offices will enable World Courier to better serve key markets in Asia and Europe, as well as meet its customers’ unique needs.

World Courier is a provider of speciality logistics and is a part of AmerisourceBergen.

The new offices, coupled with enhanced service capabilities network-wide such as industry-leading quality management standards and the development of personalised supply chain teams to support key speciality segments better position the company to meet its customers’ evolving needs.

The offices enable the company to meet the growing demand for speciality services such as time and temperature-controlled transport and provide World Courier with greater visibility into the local market regulations and operational environments. The offices are located in:

  • Chengdu, China
  • Manila, Philippines
  • Vilnius, Lithuania
  • Belgrade, Serbia

World Courier president Sam Herbert said: “With the increased globalisation of supply chains, we recognise the demand for a logistics partner that not only delivers best-in-class speciality logistics services but also offers local, in-market expertise and resources.

“Our new offices, located in key markets in Asia and Europe, will enable us to build relationships with local customs and regulatory authorities and better position us to serve our customers’ unique needs, such as the growing demand for temperature control solutions.”

In addition to the new offices, World Courier is expanding its facilities in Feltham, UK, and Boston, US. The facility expansions and new offices will increase the company’s global presence and its worldwide network, which is comprised of more than 140 company offices that span more than 50 countries.

In January, World Courier announced it achieved good distribution practice (GDP) certification across its global network of offices. It is the first logistics company to attain GDP certification against three major GDP standards with international implications.

World Courier also unveiled the creation of its international personalised supply chain teams that support direct-to-patient, cell and gene therapy and clinical trials execution. These technical experts will work directly with World Courier’s customers, offering a combination of project management and customer service expertise to deliver a customised service tailored to their specific requirements and connect patients with the vital treatments they need.

Herbert added: “As our industry changes, we continue to evolve, through investments and innovation, to meet the demands of today’s patients.

“Whether it is adding new offices to increase our global presence or adopting innovative technologies to address unmet needs, we pursue opportunities that enable us to optimise the supply chain for our customers and strengthen our position as a best-in-class speciality logistics provider.”
