Guardtech Cleanrooms have continued their strong start to the year with a string of Easter projects on the verge of completion.

The Haverhill firm recently finished the cleaning and commissioning phase of a 20sqm ISO8 cleanroom installation in Frome, Somerset, while another 30sqm ISO8 build in London – for a firm producing supplements – is reaching the final stages.

It’s been a busy start to the year for Guardtech, who recently completed a 470sqm ISO8 controlled environment installation in Mullingar, Ireland, and a 600sqm ISO5 facility in Hull.

The cleanroom specialists are currently working on an ISO8 cleanroom project in Goole, which is now undergoing the structural and electrical phases of the installation, as well as a series of CleanCube portable shipping container builds and an ISO7 softwall quick-assembly ISOPOD cleanroom installation in Cambridge.

With yet more CleanCube and ISOPOD jobs lined up – notably for the latter in Eastern Europe – as well as more major Design and Build assignments, it looks set to be Guardtech’s busiest ever summer, and Operations Director Conor Barwise is looking forward to it.

“Our Design and Installation teams have produced some amazing results already this year – I couldn’t be more proud,” he said.

“It’s been an extremely active period for us in the lead up to Easter and the summer looks set to be one of the brightest in the company’s history.

“Once again, the team has come up against many difficulties and challenges and shown their talent for creative thinking and problem solving to deliver some truly outstanding controlled environments.”

Mr Barwise and his team offer a complete turnkey construction Design and Build package to clients, working with them to find the best balance between budget and specification.

Drawing on 20 years of experience, Guardtech deliver a cleanroom design that meets process demands while enhancing facility aesthetics and providing a compliant, comfortable working environment for operators.

After conducting an initial site survey, they then prepare a full, detailed proposal and preliminary concept designs – these form the basis of the estimation process and are reviewed and revised until their clients are ready to proceed with the installation phase.

But it isn’t just Design and Build in which Guardtech specialise – they also provide a wide range of cleanroom furniture and equipment solutions for clients.

Among their recent projects, Guardtech have supplied the likes of nitrogen generators, fume cupboards with extract ductwork, biological safety cabinets, laminar flow units, transfer hatches, EMS systems and much more besides.

And despite all the difficulties that the various elements of cleanroom Design and Build throw up, Mr Barwise is only too happy to try to accommodate all the challenging requirements that are presented to him.

“We get pushed to our limits every day in this business – whether it’s logistical issues, COVID-related problems, storage or delivery difficulties, hold-ups over missing or unavailable materials, transport and travel restrictions or clients developing and evolving their design requirements mid-build.

“But we never give up – we always find a solution and we always get the job done to the highest standard possible. That’s the Guardtech way.”
