SHL will be exhibiting at the Guide for Prefilled Syringe Seminar 2015 in Tokyo, Japan.

SHL executive director of Business Development Thomas Schönknecht has been invited to speak on the topic of ‘Insight into the Changing World of Auto Injectors: Trends, Partnerships and Key Learnings.’

As the prevalence of chronic diseases increases and the emergence of biologics grow, demand for self-administered drug delivery devices such as auto injectors and pen injectors continues to rise.

Although a larger share of the global auto injector market resides in North America and Europe, high growth in Asia Pacific is expected.

Leading the way are Japan and Korea, who are developing auto injector products. The Enbrel auto injector was officially introduced to the Japanese market in 2013.

Thomas Schönknecht said: "SHL sees Japan as one of the fastest emerging markets in Asia for self-administered devices like auto injectors and pen injectors, making it even more vital for us to connect and share our experiences and learnings with key biopharmaceutical players in the region.

"With Japan so close to our main manufacturing sites in Taiwan, we encourage potential customers to visit our facilities where we can better showcase the capabilities and capacities available in-house."

Device demonstrations are available on request at the seminar. SHL will present its latest product case studies in Japanese for Amber Auto Injector, Molly Auto Injector, Emerade Auto Injector and PPI Injector.
