Eurofins Genomics, an international market leader in genomic services, has been accredited the ISO17025:2005 standard since 2007, demonstrating an outstanding track record in high quality molecular testing.

ISO17025 is an important international analytical standard for testing and calibration laboratories. The accreditation has expanded to include more analytical applications.

Eurofins Genomics provides analytical solutions in veterinary medicine, pharmaceutical testing, food, feed and commodity testing, and for health care. The latter includes medical laboratory testing in the context of clinical studies and genetic diagnostics.

The new accreditation covers mass spectrometry based DNA analysis and molecular testing methods. Examples include Sanger sequencing, quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and fragment length polymorphisms analysis.

Next generation sequencing (NGS) technologies, based on Illumina and Roche 454 platforms were added to Eurofins Genomics ISO17025 accredited service portfolio in April 2014.

General manager Peter Persigehl said: "The addition of our next generation sequencing services to our ISO17025 accreditation was the next logical step in response to our growing customer base in the regulated market and in areas with specific quality assurance needs."
