Sofrigam will soon be moving its production and logistics to the Artoipole industrial park in the Arras district. The company, a leading player in today’s European market for isothermal and cooling packaging, is investing €4 million in the site.

For more than 25 years, Sofrigam has partnered major pharmaceutical laboratories in the implementation of temperature critical packaging solutions for transporting heat sensitive medicinal products and vaccines. Sofrigam provides its customers with custom and standard packaging systems and is equipped to carry out temperature testing and qualification of packages in the aim of guaranteeing total effectiveness for the cold chain.

Faced with sales growth reaching the order of 30% a year over the last few years, the company was gradually becoming cramped for space in its Rumilly-en-Cambrsis production premises. Its director therefore decided on the move to a new 7500m² site, three times the existing area. This will enable Sofrigam to house production facilities, raw materials storage, finished product storage, an e-business area, and the metrology laboratory, while planning on doubling its production capacity.

The choice of the Artoipole site is largely justified by its excellent access and its location at the junction of the A1 and A26 motorways, close to our main markets.

Fitting-out work has already begun to enable the metrology laboratory to move in during December. Production will be fully transferred to the new site before February, 2008. For Sofrigam, this project represents an investment in the order of 4 million. Thirty or so additional staff will be hired over the next three years bringing the total company workforce to more than 60.

Sofrigam, whose head office is in Nanterre, turned over 8.7 million euros in 2006, over half of this sum coming from exports. Parallel to the development of the Arras site, Sofrigam is also investing in a new production site in Canada to improve its responsiveness in the North American market.
