Earlier this year, HECHT released a new and developed drum emptying system with a suction lance. The machine is used for simple ergonomic discharging drums with and without inner liners.

Called FE-L, this system is particularly designed for customer processes with lower containment but high ergonomic requirements.

The suction lance is suitable for very confined spaces or weight-controlled product removal. The ergonomics of the original CFE-L was awarded the Technology Award in 2016.

Key features of FE-L include:

  • Ergonomic handling
  • Automatic lifting device for positioning and docking the barrel
  • Easy integration into roller conveyor systems
  • A version is available that meets hygienic design or ATEX requirements
  • Various materials and surfaces
  • No suction of the liner

During the removal weighing process, the user positions the drum directly under the sealing plate by means of a roller conveyor.

The seal is then pressed against the drum. In order to stabilise the liner and facilitate the emptying process, the area between the drum and the outer liner is evacuated. This prevents the liner from being sucked in by the suction lance.

The drum is now connected and the user can suck the powder out of the drum using a lance and vacuum.
