Matcon will hold a Lean Manufacturing Open Day at its UK headquarters on Thursday 8 March 2012 to showcase the latest in lean manufacturing solutions for the powder processing industries. Attendees will have the opportunity to see ‘real’ working configurations, from raw materials filling to finished goods business to business packing. A special showcase will be two Flexi-Batch IBC systems, demonstrating the automatic formulation of recipe batches including full tracking and traceability of materials for all or part of the manufacturing process, with the use of advanced RFID technology.

The aim of this free one-day event is to bridge the gap between lean theory and practice for companies engaged in powder processing. The day will include academic presentations of current lean thinking, as well as real solutions and case studies for putting lean into practice in powder process manufacture.

Topics include:

  • Manufacturing on demand
  • Minimising work in progress
  • Mixing ‘without’ cleaning
  • Practical manufacturing execution systems
  • Efficient traceability
  • Packing with total flexibility
  • Maximising overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)

‘Live’ full-scale powder demonstrations will also be carried out throughout the day on Matcon’s range of powder handling process equipment, displaying the latest IBC and related technology in sieving, dosing, mixing and packing.

This open day presents the perfect opportunity for you to see equipment designed with flexibility in mind and why you too should be investing in order to stay ahead of your local and global competition.
