Crude aqueous vegetable leaf extracts contain a complex mixture of proteins, alkaloids, and pigments such as chlorophyll. The selective removal of chlorophyll and alkaloids is a crucial step for obtaining purified water-soluble proteins suitable for downstream applications. Centrifugal Partition Chromatography (CPC) allows efficient separation based on liquid–liquid partitioning, offering a scalable and solvent-efficient alternative to traditional chromatographic methods.
