As Zenith celebrates its 20th year anniversary, it has looked at how the careers and lives of some of its long-standing employees have evolved over the last two decades.
In this article, Zenith interviews Santosh Joshi who joined Zenith more than 14 years ago when he migrated from Mumbai, India, to Cork, Ireland.
Although he has always kept India very close to his heart, he has built up a successful career and life in Ireland where he relocated in 2004.
Coming from a family of engineers, Santosh studied Instrumentation and Controls at the College of Engineering in Pune. Prior to working at Zenith, Santosh built up his experience working predominantly in the process and automation industry for Turnbull Control Systems India and Emerson Process Management.
Utilising Zenith’s Continuous Professional Development initiative Santosh completed a Master’s degree from University College Cork in Technology Management.
Since joining Zenith in 2004, Santosh has contributed significantly to the business while building a hugely successful career. His career at Zenith began as a lead engineer and technical consultant, and since then Santosh has worked in a variety of roles from heading up the manage services lead to becoming engineering manager for the EU and more recently, MES senior technical consultant. Today, he is working with top pharmaceutical companies globally helping them on Industry 4.0 implementation.
Santoshi said: “Working at Zenith has given me the opportunity to not only work in an area that I am passionate about (which is Automation and batch process control) but since I started I have been on a continuous learning cycle. At Zenith you get the opportunity to work with the latest and greatest in technology advancements, this area of the business is continuously evolving, and I feel lucky to have been able to grow my skills with the business over the last 14 years.”
Santosh’s ties with India led to him playing an instrumental part in the selection and opening of Zenith’s office in the Pune city in 2008.
He continued: “Moving out of India was a big decision for me so I have tried to stay as involved as possible with my home country, visiting often. I was more than happy to help facilitate the opening of the Pune office, as well as to recruit great engineers from India to join Zenith.
“The people of India are hardworking and there are a lot of highly experienced engineers with solid mathematical minds, it was good to be able to bridge any cultural gap between India and Ireland to help build a tight and successful relationship.”
During his time at Zenith, Santosh has witnessed the business evolve and expand significantly. He said: “When I look back over the years it’s incredible to see how far both Zenith and I have come. When I started there were more than 70 engineers, we’re now celebrating our 20th year we have over 800 people.
“This is a significant achievement and something I am incredibly proud to have been a part of. Zenith is not just an MES or DCS implementation house, it truly understands the needs of the industry and has a culture of embracing new technology to deliver performance improvements, long may it continue.”
Santosh’s inspirational story highlights the career opportunities that exist at Zenith Technologies. Whether you are looking to work with the latest technologies or want to play a part in the development of software systems for Life Sciences, Zenith could be the right company to take your career onto the next level.
