Antibody Discovery, Engineering and ADC Development
Creative Biolabs provides integrated antibody discovery and development services to support pharmaceutical, biotechnology and academic research programmes. Our capabilities span early binder discovery, antibody sequencing and engineering, next-generation antibody format development, antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) development and preclinical characterisation. Clients may select individual services or establish a customised workflow aligned with their target, therapeutic modality and development stage.
Antibody and binder discovery
Successful antibody development begins with a discovery strategy designed around the biological target and the desired mechanism of action. Creative Biolabs offers phage display and yeast display platforms for the discovery of antibodies, peptides and other binding molecules. Services include antigen design and preparation, custom library construction, library screening, binder identification, recombinant expression and candidate characterisation.
Our platforms can support conventional monoclonal antibodies, single-domain antibodies and specialised discovery programmes. These include antibodies recognising post-translational modifications, anti-idiotype antibodies, agonistic antibodies and binders against complex or challenging targets.
Next-generation antibody sequencing and B-cell receptor repertoire analysis are also available for sequence identification, clone recovery and antibody diversity assessment. These technologies can be integrated with downstream expression and validation to accelerate the transition from sequence data to experimentally confirmed candidates.
Antibody engineering and optimisation
Lead antibodies frequently require further optimisation before entering advanced preclinical studies. Creative Biolabs provides antibody humanisation, affinity maturation, Fc engineering and format conversion. Candidates can also be evaluated and optimised for specificity, stability, solubility, aggregation tendency and other developability-related properties.
Our antibody engineering capabilities extend to bispecific and multispecific antibodies, antibody fragments, Fc-fusion proteins and other customised formats. Design strategies are developed according to target biology, intended mechanism and experimental requirements rather than relying on a single standardised architecture.
Antibody-drug conjugate development
Creative Biolabs supports ADC development through the coordinated selection and optimisation of antibodies, linkers, payloads and conjugation strategies. Programs may include antibody internalisation assessment, linker-payload selection, conventional or site-specific conjugation, drug-to-antibody ratio optimisation and process development.
Analytical characterisation can be performed to assess identity, purity, conjugation profile, aggregation, stability and binding activity. Functional studies may include cellular uptake, target-dependent cytotoxicity, bystander activity and mechanism-related assays. Selected candidates can subsequently progress to pharmacology, pharmacokinetic and preclinical efficacy studies.
Flexible, project-specific support
Antibody programs vary substantially in target complexity, format and development objective. Creative Biolabs therefore offers flexible engagement models ranging from a single technical service to an integrated discovery-to-preclinical programme.
By connecting antibody discovery, molecular engineering, analytical characterisation, functional testing and ADC development within one coordinated framework, we help research teams reduce workflow fragmentation and make evidence-based candidate selection decisions. Our scientists work with clients to define appropriate study designs, milestones and deliverables for each project.
